Machines in Motion is s 24-page unit that takes children inside the fascinating world of cars, planes and rockets to discover how machines use parts, forces, energy and simple machines to move.
Students explore wheels and axles, gears, pulleys, levers and propellers before investigating how different machines turn energy into movement. They then take a closer look at the parts of cars, aeroplanes and rockets, discovering how the individual components work together and exploring concepts including lift, thrust, drag, gravity, action and reaction, energy and safety.
