This Grade 6 English Curriculum is a complete Australian Curriculum Aligned 40-week program designed to make English clear, practical and enjoyable for homeschool families. It covers the key Grade 6 skills across grammar, spelling, punctuation, writing, reading, research and speaking, while keeping the workload varied and manageable.
The year follows a simple alternating structure: one worksheet week, then one project week. Worksheet weeks include four structured pages focusing on skills such as grammar, spelling, sentence building, editing and writing. The following project week gives students the chance to use those skills in a more creative, hands-on way.
Across the year, students complete projects such as persuasive writing, short stories, poetry, speeches, debates, interviews, reviews, research, advertisements, travel writing and graphic narratives.
